SABLE® to be showcased to high-ranking Chinese Delegation in South Africa

Updated: Oct 11, 2018

In just one week, a high-ranking delegation from China will travel to South Africa for a three-week long study of South Africa’s globally recognised mineral reporting codes. During their visit, they’ll be given insight into a proudly South African borehole logging system known as SABLE® .

SABLE®, which is a division of Datamine Africa, has become the trade mark for a methodology that has delivered useable, reliable data to large producing mines for over thirty years. The system is now set to go global.

Matt Mullins, Chairperson of Samcodes Standards Committee (SSC) has praised the borehole logging database as one of the best in the world.

The system which was developed out of the South African Mining Industry represents years of experience, the successful delivery of data with integrity, as well as quality assurance through a reliable data standard.

“[SABLE®] has checks and balances built into it right at the beginning when you input the data. The integrity of the data is so important for the whole downstream process, from the resource modelling to mine planning, into the financial model, and so often we get that first step wrong. [With SABLE®] you’re assured of clean data upfront,” stated Mullins.

The delegation from the Mineral Resources and Reserves Evaluation Centre of the Ministry of Land and Natural Resources (MRREC) in Beijing, visit ahead of China joining the Committee for Mineral Reserves International Reporting Standards (CRIRSCO) as their 14th member.

Datamine Africa is excited to be part of this important visit. You can read more about it in this article as featured in Mining Weekly.
