About Us

Enhancing Data Integrity for Borehole Logging and Sampling in Mining Exploration and Evaluation

SABLE® originated as an acronym for Standardised Approach to Borehole Logging for Exploration and Evaluation. Over the last four decades, this methodology has become synonymous with the supply of reliable and actionable data to major mining operations.

Combining our expertise in geology, mining, and software development, SABLE® has become a hallmark of trusted methods that generate robust databases housing credible, useable data.

The SABLE® Promise: Ensuring Data Integrity with Quality Assurance

1

SABLE® Project Definition (SPD)

Our customisable schema, comprising data structures, conventions, validations, and scripts, serves as the cornerstone of our data standards. Open metadata within our databases ensures accurate quality assurance, configurable active validations during and after data capture, and seamless data management functionality

2

Database Structure Independence

Standardising terminology is pivotal to data integrity. Our approach allows for continual dictionary updates, ensuring data quality enhancements across the entire database. Furthermore, unstructured external data can be seamlessly integrated and upgraded to conform to the defined standards, providing consistency across various databases

3

Agile Adaptability and Prototyping

SABLE® remains flexible and adaptable, featuring a database prototyping tool during implementations. Continuous improvements are facilitated post-implementation, allowing for dynamic adjustments as geoscientific understanding evolves.

Our Story

Originally developed by Marcia van Aswegen in the 1980s, SABLE® saw significant development during the 1990s by a team of Ukranian software and database developers. Through subsequent iterations, including SABLE® Data 1, SABLE® Data 2.0, and SABLE® Data Warehouse, the platform evolved to meet the ever increasing demands of the mining and IT industries.

Transitioning core product development to a South African team in 2018 marked a new era for SABLE®, culminating in the release of SABLE® 7. This version represents a transformative step, enabling cross-hardware compatibility from portable to mobile platforms. Custom modules for Android, iOS, and Microsoft devices are now feasible from an agnostic software platform, with the potential for tailored mobile applications developed in collaboration with our clients.
